The service

ByteBorough is a visual business directory. A plot is a paid digital storefront on that directory. It is not real estate, and buying one does not make you the owner of a real-world business or address.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or pay for a plot.

Accounts

Buying a plot requires an account with a verified email. You can sign up with email or with Google. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping the login to yourself. From the login page or the dashboard you can email yourself a link to choose a new password. You can delete the account from the dashboard. Deleting it cancels plot leases and clears those lots.

Listings

A storefront is public. That includes the business name, description, logo, website, social links, street address, phone, and contact email you choose to publish.

You may only list a business you are allowed to represent. You must have the right to use the name, logo, and other material you upload. We may show unclaimed listings drawn from publicly available information. If one of those is yours and it is wrong, email [email protected].

Prohibited content

You may not advertise, describe, link to, or display any of the following on ByteBorough:

• Anything illegal, including illegal goods, services, or activity.
• Pornography, X-rated material, or sexually explicit goods or services.

This applies to every public part of a listing: the name, description, logo, photos, website, and social links.

If a listing breaks this rule, we remove it and ban the account. The subscription is canceled immediately. Plot fees and floor purchases already paid are not refunded. You can ask us to review the ban. If we reverse it, the account is restored. That review does not refund those charges, and it does not put the building back on the map. You may buy an available plot again.

We may also remove a listing and ban an account, without a refund, for impersonation, scams, spam, malware, or other abuse of the directory.

Prices and payment

A plot is $4.99 a month and includes the ground floor. Extra floors are $3 each, paid once. For 24 hours after you buy a plot, you can add five floors for $10. After that window, each extra floor is $3. The price you accept is the price shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number.

Cancellation

You can cancel a plot from the billing portal. The storefront stays up through the end of the month you already paid for. We do not refund or prorate that month. When the paid period ends, the plot can be vacated and claimed by someone else.

A ban is not a cancellation. A banned account loses the storefront immediately, and the fees already paid are not refunded.

Your content

You keep ownership of the text and images you upload. You give ABLE Logic a license to host, display, and distribute that material as part of ByteBorough for as long as the listing is on the site. We own the ByteBorough name, the site, and the city interface.

Disclaimers and liability

ByteBorough is provided as available. We do not guarantee that a listing will be seen, that the directory will be error-free, or that a storefront will bring customers. Listings are not an endorsement by ABLE Logic.

To the fullest extent allowed by Texas law, ABLE Logic is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for a claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for ByteBorough in the 12 months before the claim.

Texas law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page will change when we do. If you keep using a paid storefront after an update, the new terms apply to that use.
